My Neighborhood Description: My neighborhood is in south Minneapolis near Chicago and Lake. It’s Really like any other neighborhoods.

1. Public Services (parks, libraries, schools)
Grade: B
Comments: I Gave my neighborhood a B because on the parks , Libraries and schools down the street there’s a school named Anderson and a park named Stewart. A Library is 5 blocks away from my house.

2. Transportation (access to bike routes, bus and train, main streets, and highways)
Grade: B
Comments: I’m giving my neighborhood a B on transportation because you can catch a bus like 5e to the mall. Nearby there’s and also the train you can get on.

3. Retail Services (groceries, pharmacies, coffee shops, banks, restaurants and more)
Grade: C
Comments: I gave It a c because there’s not any pharmacies, coffee shops, banks, restaurants that I know of. But there’s a grocery store you can go to.

4. Safety (violent and nonviolent crime, shots fired, predatory offenders, and pedestrian safety)
Grade: B
Comments: It’s Between a B and a C because once in a while we have problems in the neighborhood like sometimes been to loud.

5. Nuisances (airport noise, pollution, and odors)
Grade: B
Comments: It’s a B because there’s no airport noise or odors. We do have a little bit of pollution.

6. Demographics (diversity, homeownership, education, income, and poverty)
Grade: C
Comments: It’s a C because there’s a diversity of people in the neighborhood some people have low incomes.

7. Areas for Improvement: My neighborhood can be improve by people cleaning after themselves and there dogs.

8. What I like best about my neighborhood: What I Like about my neighborhood is that there’s a diversity of different people

9. What I’d Most Like to See for My Neighborhood: I would like to see my neighborhood improve cleaning after themselves.

1. Public Services(parks, libraries, schools)
Grade: B
Comments: We have Phillips Park, Franklin Library, and Andersen Community School. I gave this a B, because the neighborhood has all of the things close to my neighborhood.

2.Transportation (access to bike routes, bus, and train, main streets and highways).
Grade:A
Comments: We have bus routes 21,53,39,5 and the light rail, and bike trail on the Greenway trail.

3.Retail Services (groceries, pharmacies, cofee shops, banks, restaurants, and more)
Comments:A.G Market, Allina Community Pharmacy, Far out films, and Ace Hardware.Told two of the small business, the one that is close to Allina Hospital, and one that is near our neighborhood. I think it's the best to have service in my neighborhood.

4.Safety:(violent and nonviolent crime, shots fired,predatory offenders, and pedestrian safety)
Grade: B
Comments: There is more burglary and some others crimes like sex offender, but also there is other kind of crimes which isn't actually really serious.

5.Nuisances:(airport noises, pollution, and odors
Grade:B
Comments: I didn't have the airplane noise information I had discussed about the other disturbed noises, the helicopter noises. The helicopter hovers to other places when there is an emergency it';ll fly to another place but mostly it happens during the night. For the air quality there is pollution caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Which cause the air to smell so bad and contaminate the air.

6. Demographics: (diversity, homeownership, education, income, and poverty)
Grade: A
Comments: There are about five percent of people in my neighborhood who live under poverty, around twenty percent who has education, and more whites than colored people, like about ninety percent.

7. Areas for Improvement: By reducing the crime of burglary, so to make that happen we need watchful neighbors and if all pitch in we can make this a better and safe place.

8. What I like best about my neighborhood:
I like how close every retail and public service are so close to my neighborhood or near, I think there is about 9 of them close to my neighborhood.

9. What I’d Most Like to See for My Neighborhood:
I want less pollution in the air and the odor of the air, because everyone wants to breathe in a clean air.

My Neighborhood Description: My neighborhood boundaries are Hiawatha Ave. Lake Street Interstate 35w and 18th Street South Minneapolis.

1. Public Services (parks, libraries, schools)
Grade: B
Comments: I said the grade was a B because the parks are not that fun and they are mainly made for little kids. The library is okay and it has a lot of computers so I like the library. The schools in my neighborhood are boring and I don’t like them. The schools in my neighborhood are Trinity First Lutheran School, Anderson and South High School.

2. Transportation (access to bike routes, bus and train, main streets, and highways)
Grade: A
Comment: The reason why I gave my neighborhood an A is because the bus stop is right in front of my house. The train station is about three blocks away, there are the main street Franklin Ave. South. 11th Ave. Route The Franklin Stop on the train.

3. Retail Services (groceries, pharmacies, coffee shops, banks, restaurants and more)
Grade: D
Comments: I give my neighborhood a D because the grocery store is Aldis and I don’t really like that store. In my neighborhood we have Snyder’s and I don’t really go there, and we have no banks and no restaurants and I don’t drink coffee so it doesn't really matter about that.

4. Safety (violent and nonviolent crime, shots fired, predatory offenders, and pedestrian safety)
Grade: F
Comments: My neighborhood is gets an F in this category because my neighborhood has a lot of violence and it is not really safe. If you don’t know the neighborhood it is not really safe. The pedestrian safety is not very good and it is really not the safest place to walk across the street.

5. Nuisances (airport noise, pollution, and odors)
Grade: B
Comments: There is no airplane noise in my neighborhood; there is not really a lot of airplane noise. The pollution in my neighborhood is hazardous waste, investigation & cleanup and multiple activities. I don’t think there are any bad odors in my neighborhood.

6. Demographics (diversity, home ownership, education, income, and poverty)
Grade: C
Comments: I gave my neighborhood a C because there are not a lot of people that own their own houses. I think the reason why is because the conditions the houses are in and the way the things look around it. Also not a lot of people have a god education. It compares to my neighborhood because some neighborhoods have a majority of people who have a good education compared to mine.

7. Areas for Improvement: I think some of the areas that could use improvement are the streets because they have a lot of cracks and they have a lot of pot holes. That is the only thing I think could use improvement. The crime in my neighborhood is mainly theft.

8. What I like best about my neighborhood: The thing I like best about my neighborhood is the way it is set up. The stores are like just the right blocks away for me to walk there. The other thing in my neighborhood that I like is the things that are for my age group like all around and I don’t have to walk to miles to get anywhere. Also, the bus stop is right in front of my house.

9. What I’d Most Like to See for My Neighborhood:

I really do want new basketball courts. The courts that are there now are really messed up. The other thing that I would like to see in my neighborhood is tennis courts. I want tennis courts that are made up of clay. I just don’t want to play on concrete.

Grade: A
Comments: I gave an A because Anderson Open , Morrison Park and Franklin Library are close to my house.

2. Transportation (access to bike routes, bus and train, main streets, and highways)
Grade: A
Comments: I gave an A because Midtown Bike Trail is close to my neighborhood and my house and Lake Street and 35w and 94 highways are next to my house.

3. Retail Services (groceries, pharmacies, coffee shops, banks, restaurants and more)
Grade: C
Comments: I gave a C because there isn’t a Pharmacy , Bank , a Coffee shop in my neighborhood.

4. Safety (violent and nonviolent crime, shots fired, predatory offenders, and pedestrian safety)
Grade: D
Comments: I gave a D because there are lots of predatory offenders and alots of shootings.

5. Nuisances (airport noise, pollution, and odors)
Grade: A
Comments: I gave an A because there isn’t an airport near my neighborhood and we don’t have pollution problems and also there is no odor problems too.

Comments: I gave an A because almost all people in my neighborhood own a house and have an education.

I like my neighborhood how it is but, I would like to have a pharmacy close to my neighborhood and more restaurants.

What I like best in my neighborhood is that we have Kix Field and Midtown Bike Trail close.

9. What I’d Most Like to See for My Neighborhood:
I would like to see highways a little bit far from my neighborhood because they are to noise and sometimes it doesn’t let us sleep .I would like to have more police men in my neighborhood so they can stop the shootings and we can be more safe.

My Neighborhood Description: I like were I live at it’s a lot of things to do in it and you want never be board.

Comments: because we have a lot of parks by my house but its not the safest parks people fights a lot there and there is a lot of bad things that go on there.

Comments: I gave this an A because I like all the parks and libraries and schools in my neighborhood

Comments: the bike routes are good because it not crowded at all and the street way and train is most of the time is crowded but the bus is really crowded because a lot of people have no cars so they catch the bus

Comments: the reason I gave this one a B is because there are no groceries stores around we have to go out far to go to the grocery store like cubs and there are two hospitals that are really close to us is abbott and childrens hospital there are not that many coffe shops around there is about two reasturant around are neighborhood

My Neighborhood Name: Minnehaha

My Neighborhood Description: My neighborhood is off of Highway 62 near the 34th avenue off ramp in the southeastern corner of Minneapolis. It is a very quiet spot very little action goes on. There’s a park, and it ends near Minnehaha Creek.

1. Public Services (parks, libraries, schools)
Grade: A
Comments: There are a couple of parks, and schools and one library. I gave Minnehaha because there is at least one school, library and park.

2. Transportation (access to bike routes, bus and train, main streets, and highways)
Grade: A
Comments: It is right off of Highway 62. Also near the creek there are bike paths. Also, the boundary of my neighborhood ends at Hiawatha Avenue; there are bus routes and the LRT that leave from there. Also, at the end of my block there is a city bus stop.

3. Retail Services (groceries, pharmacies, coffee shops, banks, restaurants and more)
Grade: A
Comments: In my neighborhood there aren’t any inside of the boundary, but there are banks, restaurants, and more. All except pharmacies, the only one near my neighborhood is on the other side of Hiawatha Avenue.

4. Safety (violent and nonviolent crime, shots fired, predatory offenders, and pedestrian safety)
Grade: B
Comments: Although there aren’t many crimes that go on, many things that happen go unreported. My friend lives four blocks away and he is always saying that there are either cops or ambulances on his block. The C4 crimes are widespread in my neighborhood too.

5. Nuisances (airport noise, pollution, and odors)
Grade: A
Comments: There is very little of anything like pollution or anything, but the airplane noise gets annoying because we live just outside of the limits for the special windows.

6. Demographics (diversity, homeownership, education, income, and poverty)
Grade: C
Comments: My neighborhood is predominantly white with little diversity. Almost all people in my neighborhood own their house. Only 40% have a bachelor degree. Income averages to be about $50,000. Only 2% of the people in my neighborhood are below the poverty line.

7. Areas for Improvement: On my block many drivers roar down the street, to fix it may be to put up some speed bumps, but other than that not much to fix.

8. What I like best about my neighborhood: I like the availability of parks and businesses, most of which are within walking distance.

9. What I’d Most Like to See for My Neighborhood: An extension of the noise abatement funds and projects window treatments. Especially if the boundary ends right at my block where the planes still fly over we should be entitled to the windows too.

My Neighborhood Description: My neighborhood is from 37th & Hiawatha to 27th & 34th S. It is a very nice neighborhood.

Grade: C
Comments: There aren’t many of them around but the ones that we do have are nice. Like Longfellow Park and school and the Roosevelt library.

2. Transportation (access to bike routes, bus and train, main streets, and highways)
Grade: A
Comments: My neighborhood has a lot of bus routes main streets & highways. Also we are close to the train.

3. Retail Services (groceries, pharmacies, coffee shops, banks, restaurants and more)
Grade: B
Comments: there are lots of grocery stores like cub and rainbow Walgreen's banks and food places.

4. Safety (violent and nonviolent crime, shots fired, predatory offenders, and pedestrian safety)
Grade: B+
Comments: Crimes happen but rarely.

My Neighborhood Description: My neighborhood is in North Minneapolis. It is bounded on the North by Lowry Ave. N, on the East by Emerson Ave. N, and West by West Broadway Ave. It was named after a Minneapolis Public School Superintendent Emeritus Charles Morison Jordan.

1. Public Services (parks, libraries, schools)
Grade: C
Comments: There is Glen Gale Park, Fairview Park, North Regional Library, Nellie Stone Johnson, and Lucy Craft Laney/Hmong International Academy. I arrived it at a C because most of my trips to these places are usually walks.

2. Transportation: (access to bike routes, bus and train, main streets, and highways)
Grade: B
Comments: My transportation is walking, biking, the bus, or my parents.
Sometimes I take the bus to places; Buses I use are Bus 5 and 4. I don’t have a bike of my own but I do ask my brothers for theirs. I usually bike on 26th Ave N, but I don’t bike there no more. I just bike on sidewalks usually all the way to downtown. I tend to not ask my parents that much because they’re always busy with lots of work. So like I said, I usually walk for my transportation. But when I need to, I take it.

3. Retail Services: (groceries, pharmacies, coffee shops, banks, restaurants and more)
Grade: A
Comments: I live near Cub Foods, So Lo grocery outlet, Aldi, CVS Pharmacy, Family Dollar, Do it Best, US Bank, TCF Bank, Bean Scene, McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, etc. I say I live in a neighborhood that provides a lot for me in many ways. This neighborhood has groceries, hardware’s, pharmacies, coffee shops, restaurants, and everything that I need.

4. Safety: (violent and nonviolent crime, shots fired, predatory offenders, and pedestrian safety)
Grade: D
Comments: I live near Aggravated Assaults and lots of other C4 Offences. I wouldn't say my neighborhood is as bad as an F but it is bad to be a D. I heard lots of things in the news that occurs in my neighborhood. Sometimes it’s even occurs near my house. But the good thing is that I’m always at the right place at the right time.

5. Nuisances: (airport noise, pollution, and odors)
Grade: A
Comments: None. I would say it’s an A because I hear no noises of airports nearby and no loud noises except construction workers if nearby and people.

6. Demographics: (diversity, homeownership, education, income, and poverty)
Grade: C
Comments: I say it would be in the between of the grade level because I’m glad that there’s diversity but the people in my neighborhood doesn’t have a house, have a Bachelor Degree, and most families are below poverty level. My neighborhood needs to work on that more so our neighborhood can grow.

7. Areas for Improvement:
I would say the one thing that we need to improve the most is decreasing our crime rates. With our crime rates, it shows us who we are as a neighborhood. Lots of people would try to avoid it because of this. Because of this, people in our neighborhood rely on violence instead of their education to succeed helping our neighborhood. So yeah, this is what my neighborhood needs to work on the most.

8. What I like best about my neighborhood:
What I like about my neighborhood is that it can sometimes be quiet and I like it that way. Most of the time, it can be very quiet. In the afternoon or past noon, it gets louder and louder each time. But most of the time it’s quiet at times. So peaceful, I can ever hear the birds and the wind blowing.

9. What I’d Most Like to See for My Neighborhood:
What I want to see my neighborhood is to be a good neighborhood. I don’t want to see our neighborhood that is a sign for “The Most Dangerous Place in Minneapolis.” I want it to be a neighborhood to welcome someone and feel comfortable in that neighborhood and become a part of our neighborhood. Most of the people that move here to Jordan become the violence because they see it as a thing that goes in our neighborhood. That is what I hope to see in our neighborhood, to become better.

My Neighborhood Description: My neighborhood is very quiet and small.

Grade: B+
Comments: Howe Park and Cooper Park are by my house, east lake street library is the closes to my house. I walk to school or get a ride. I got this grade because I was trying.

2. Transportation: River road is the closes bike routes to me, there are 2 major streets by my house east lake street and 42 avenues.
Grade: B+
Comments: I usually walk to school.

3. Retail Services: Super America is by my house, caribou coffee, and Salon store.
Grade: B
Comments: It is easy to get stuff and go places.

4. Safety: There is really nothing going on in my neighborhood.
Grade: A+
Comments: I think this is the safest place in Minneapolis.

5. Nuisances: There is a not a lot of pollution in my neighborhood, no airplane noise.
Grade: A
Comments: I love my neighborhood.

6. Demographics: This a good place for poverty and people.

My Neighborhood Description: It was named after Hiawatha school. 1/3 of the neighborhoods are open land. It is part of the Longfellow community.

1. Public Services (parks, libraries, schools)
Grade: A
Comments: Because it has these things, and there is more than one.

2. Transportation (access to bike routes, bus and train, main streets, and highways)
Grade: A-
Comments: Because we have really good transportation but not a lot of bike routes.

3. Retail Services (groceries, pharmacies, coffee shops, banks, restaurants and more)
Grade: A+
Comments: We got everything! And more!

4. Safety (violent and nonviolent crime, shots fired, predatory offenders, and pedestrian safety)
Grade: B
Comments: We don’t really have any crime but though we do have some accidents and crimes.

5. Nuisances (airport noise, pollution, and odors)
Grade: A
Comments: Planes don’t bother us, and we can’t hear them intensely. They’re there but not so bad that we cannot stand it.

6. Demographics (diversity, homeownership, education, income, and poverty)
Grade: B-
Comments: We have a lot of white people, and not as many non-white people. A lot of people own houses, and most are smart, and not a lot of us are below poverty level.

7. Areas for Improvement: More neighborhood events. Like BBQ’s or random events would make my neighborhood WAY more interesting because it is kind of boring.

8. What I like best about my neighborhood: Hiawatha is very all its own. It’s not like other neighborhoods. It keeps to itself really and I so like that. But it still could use more to do.

9. What I’d Most Like to See for My Neighborhood: I’d like to see it grow and become an awesome neighborhood that everyone would want to live. Somewhere where everyone is doing something for the community and it’s never boring. I want to see it grow.

My Neighborhood Name: Hawthorne

My Neighborhood Description:My neighborhood is near the Missippippi River, Emerson AVE , Broadway Ave, and Lowry Ave. boundary. My neighborhood isn’t the best neighborhood to live in but there is a lot of things going on around my neighborhood.

1. Public Services (parks, libraries, schools)
Grade: B
Comments: Parks in my neighborhood are Fairview, Jordan Park, Newton Triangle, Glen Gale Park, and North Commons. Schools in my neighborhood are Lucy Craft Laney, Nellie Stone Johnson, Cityview, Sheridan, Henry, North, and Edison. The only library in my neighborhood is North Regional.
I arrived at this grade for this section because my neighborhood has a lot of schools and parks and we have a pretty great library, the only problem is the crime.

2. Transportation (access to bike routes, bus and train, main streets, and highways)
Grade: B
Comments: There are bicycle routes on Lowry Ave N, and 26th Ave N. There are many bus routes throughout my neighborhood such as the 5, 19, 22, 32, ectera. Some main streets in my neighborhood are Lyndale, Lowry, Broadway, ectera. The two main highways in my neighborhood are I94, and I35. I arrived at this grade for this section because we have bike routes, many buses run through my neighborhood, we have some main streets, and we have a couple of highways in my neighborhood.

3. Retail Services (groceries, pharmacies, coffee shops, banks, restaurants and more)
Grade: C
Comments: There are two main grocery stores in my neighborhood Cub Foods, and So Low. Pharmacies in my neighborhood are CVS, and you can use cubs. There are no coffee shops that I know of that are in my neighborhood. We have a bank on Broadway, and there are many restaurants such as the gyro shops, Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy’s, Chinese food, ectera.
I arrived at a C for the overall grade for this section because we only have one bank, only two main grocery stores, one pharmacy, and no coffee shops, but other than that we’re pretty much good.

Comments: My neighborhood is a very violent place, there has been shots fired, and we have 6 predatory offenders in my neighborhood it seems like another comes up each day. The crime rate in my neighborhood is ridiculous.

5. Nuisances (airport noise, pollution, and odors)
Grade: D
Comments: I don’t hear airplane noise in my neighborhood, we have some pollution, and it sometimes stinks like two blocks away from my house.
The only thing that I don’t have in this section is airplane noise so I decided to grade this section as a D.

6. Demographics: (diversity, homeownership, education, income, and poverty)
Grade: D
Comments: My neighborhood is pretty diverse. In my neighborhood we have African American, Asians, and Hispanic people. Not a lot of people own homes in my neighborhood, many people didn’t go to college, the income is generally low, and there are many people in poverty.
I arrived at this grade for my neighborhood because my neighborhood is pretty diverse, homeownership is rare, education after high school is rare, income is low, and poverty is high.

7. Areas for Improvement: My neighborhood would be better if the crime level decreased. Things that could potentially make the crime level decrease is if more people went to college after high school, income became higher, and if more people owned there homes.

8. What I like best about my neighborhood: I like the fact that my neighborhood offers many different things to the community such as libraries, parks, and schools.

9. What I’d Most Like to See for My Neighborhood: I’d like to see crime decrease the most so that everyone can see the full potential of my neighborhood, and I’d also enjoy to see more people getting a better education after high school.

My Neighborhood Description: My neighborhood is in North Minneapolis, just north of West Broadway Ave.

1. Public Services (parks, libraries, schools)

Comments: There is Folwell Park, and North Regional Library. I chose this because they are easy to get to.

2. Transportation (access to bike routes, bus and train, main streets, and highways)

Comments: I chose this grade because the buses run to slow for me

Comments: I chose this grade because the stores are close enough to walk to. There are Lowry Food Market, So Low, And a store I do not know the mane to yet bout it’s on Lowry in Fremont
